The Chest
The Object
The Chest takes its name from the historical furniture piece used to store and protect valuable belongings. Traditionally solid and durable, and often made with a removable rounded lid, the Chest was designed to last and to hold what mattered. That reference informs both the form and presence of this object.
The Chest is sometimes compared to a dog crate, yet is conceived as a furniture object that offers rest and enclosure without adopting the visual language of utilitarian products. Defined by rounded edges and a softened silhouette, the Chest is designed to belong naturally within the room. Perforated side panels allow light and air to pass through, keeping the interior connected to its surroundings. Grounded and composed, it integrates naturally into shared living spaces.
The Use
Designed as a resting place, the Chest offers a calm, enclosed space that supports routine and rest. The optional transparent door can be closed when needed, providing a sense of security while maintaining visual contact with the surroundings. Its flat top offers a stable surface, allowing the object to function naturally as a side table, and it is available in multiple sizes to suit different dogs and interiors.
The Materials
The Chest is made from FSC-certified beech plywood, selected for strength, stability, and long-term use. The wood is finished with a clear varnish that protects the surface while allowing the material to age naturally. A transparent acrylic door, durable hardware, and a deep cushion upholstered in a hard-wearing, water-repellent textile complete the object.
