The process

The Atelier

Pavia's atelier is located on the grounds of the original Pavia tree nursery. Here, design and making happen side by side, from early prototypes to final assembly. Each object is developed, tested, and approved here.

Quality is often a matter of choosing the slower path.

The Design

Every Pavia object begins with a drawing. Ideas are sketched by hand, refined digitally, and developed through programming and prototyping as one continuous process. This back-and-forth between thinking and making allows form, balance, and comfort to be tested before decisions are fixed.

The Making

Making at Pavia is defined by the instruments used. Vintage machines and woodworking tools sit alongside digital workflows and CNC machining, each chosen for what they do best. Satisfaction comes from combining proven, time-tested equipment with contemporary precision, favouring quality over speed.

The Production

Once a design is resolved, selected components are produced in collaboration with specialised partners in Europe. Assembly, finishing, and quality control return to the atelier, where each object is checked against the original intent. Nothing leaves without attention.
